manifest, goalsOver the years I have learned that there are two ways to manifest goals.

I have used both ways and they work. However, I have found a way that has far greater blessings than the usual goal setting or law of attraction “manifesting”

Manifesting Goals: An Overview

Over the years I have become quite the expert at “manifesting”.  For those who may not be familiar with this term, it is a form of attracting what we desire by:

1. Getting clear on what we desire.

2. Visualizing it.

3. Tapping into the feeling of already having received it.

There are some scriptures to support this

And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matt 21:22 AMP

This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours. – Mark 11:24

I can attest that although this way works it can also have a downside.

My experience has shown me that no matter how well I think I know what I desire once I get it I soon realize I forgot something!

A couple of years after my divorce I decided that I desired to manifest a man.  I specified and wrote down many things I desired (loved God, into health, into personal development, danced, good looking, etc.).

Almost like magic, he showed up!  I truly thought to myself this is heaven.  This is incredible! The gorgeous man asked me out for a wonderful lunch and walk on the river.  How does it get any better? I wondered…until BAAM! I noticed he was wearing a wedding ring!  When I pointed it out, I was shocked at his response that he didn’t think it mattered.  Exit stage left and pronto! Back to the drawing (or manifesting) board!

I worked on my refined goal. This time I included all the features above and added: “NOT married”!  Bingo like magic he showed up.  Gorgeous, smart, wealthy, healthy, danced…the works…I was thrilled.  UNTIL he shared that was a single parent to two very young children.  UGH!  I was NOT ready to raise another set of kids. And so the saga continued.

I won’t go on with my manifesting adventures.  Ultimately, I realized and learned that I may not always know what I truly desire or more importantly what I really need.

I have since come to see things in a way that is perhaps more in line with God’s way.

My perspective on manifesting goals now involves having an intimate relationship with my heavenly father, trusting that, like a good earthly father, He has my best interest in mind.

It also adds the dimension of seeking His way, His will, His Word and His timing.

Lastly, it is not only self-seeking but also considers the higher good of others.

I have moved beyond only focusing on my preferences and motives to also consider the HIGHEST AND BEST for accomplishing my God-given vision, mission, and purpose. – Brenda Byers” username=”@prosperinall”]

When we don’t ask from this higher perspective, scripture calls it “asking amiss”.

And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. – James 4:3 KJV

And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. – James 4:3 NLT

Another huge difference with goal setting God’s way is that when I know my desires line up with His Word and what I believe is His will for me I can boldly ask to receive it by FAITH.

For this reason, I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. – Mark 11:24 AMP

This faith gives me the patience, strength, and power to look beyond my circumstances and believe it will come to pass.

An Example From Scripture

If we look at Abraham and Sarah’s from the perspective of circumstances,  there was little hope!.  They were nearly 100 years old.  She was 50 years past menopause.  His body was “as good as dead”.  The chances of having a baby at 100 were slim!

But scripture tells us Abraham did not consider this!

In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised [by God]: “So [numberless] shall your descendants be.” 19 Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. – Rom 4:18-22

Faith is a Substance

This is faith! And faith is a real and tangible substance.  It’s the stuff heavenly goals are made of!  And it’s the substance that occupies my mind as I seek huge things in the new year.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11-1

I’m curious… What are you working on manifesting?  What have you learned in the process?

Praying YOU prosper in ALL things!
